ABOUT US

Oslo Seilakademi is a training platform for people who love life at sea and want to learn how to handle a sailing yacht with confidence, out on the sea and into the harbour.

Oslo Seilakademi was founded by the experienced yachtsman Steinar Stefanussen, a sailor who has spent years navigating the fjords and open seas. His driving force is to create a dynamic community of people who share one thing - a deep respect and love for the life at sea.

    01 / 05

The calm demeanour of the instructor set the foundation for a positive atmosphere and great spirit onboard. Although I had some prior sailing experience, I learned a lot about procedures under sail and safe manoeuvring in and out of harbour.

  • Two smiling adults, a woman and a man, stand on a boat with sailboats and marina in the background. They are wearing sunglasses and jackets, enjoying a cloudy day on the water.

    02 / 05

From the very first moment we were actively handling the boat ourselves. We left the dock, manoeuvred in harbour and sailed in realistic conditions. The learning truly stuck because we were constantly doing, not just observing.

    03 / 05

This was not a course where you sit on the sidelines. We were active throughout, from departing dock and harbour manoeuvres to sailing upwind and downwind. By the end of the weekend, I felt more confident handling the boat in harbour and sailing with all sails set.
